This is Boulder: a unique city filled with athletes, entrepreneurs and innovators, surrounded by incredible open space and home to a major university. As a progressive city, its residents share important values: we want Boulder to be a diverse community, and affordable to people of all races, backgrounds and income levels. We want to be a community that is compassionate to all, and we want to continue to lead in addressing the challenges of climate change and to reduce our environmental footprint.
The question is: how do we implement these shared values to achieve a better, more affordable and more environmentally sustainable City? And how do we address the challenges created by Boulder’s recent growth: traffic congestion, deteriorated roads, and steeply priced housing? I have some ideas.
